ISG Rings In 35th Founder’s Day with Unmatched Grandeur

Indian School Al Ghubra celebrated its 35th Founder’s Day on Thursday, 13th November 2025.

His Excellency, Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Under Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman was the Chief Guest for the function. His Excellency Shri G.V. Srinivas, the Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman graced the occasion. Also present at this grand event were Dr. P. Mohamed Ali, Founder, Indian School Al Ghubra, Mr. Ahmed Rayees, President, School Management Committee, Indian School Ghubra, and many prominent dignitaries.

The function began with the welcome address by the Principal, Mrs. Papri Ghosh where she reminisced of her journey at ISG and acknowledged the contributions of the core team members of the school. The School Annual Report, presented through striking visuals, powerfully showcased the achievements of the school.

The Founder, Dr. Mohamed Ali, in his address, emphasised the remarkable progress the school has made over the years and highlighted its significant contributions to the Indian community.

In his address, His Excellency, Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Under Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, reflected on the emphasis the Indian community places on education and their enduring commitment to academic excellence.

His Excellency Shri G.V. Srinivas, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman, in his address

appreciated the way the school has groomed the students into confident individuals. The Ambassador’s soulful rendition of a hymn was much appreciated by the audience.

Mr. Ahmed Rayees, the President of SMC appreciated the dynamic leadership of the Principal and expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Education, the Government of Oman and the Indian Embassy for their support.

The Annual Presentation of Awards was announced by the Vice Principal, Mr. G. Sreekumar. His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, His Excellency Shri G.V. Srinivas, Dr. P. Mohamed Ali and Mr. Ahmed Rayees gave away the awards to the toppers in Class 10 and 12 CBSE Exam, Subject-wise toppers, Haji Janab C Saidu Mohammed Memorial Merit Award, Vincent Vision Rolling Trophy, winners at CBSE Nationals (Swimming), Special Awards in Sports, Inter-House trophies, King Constantine Medal Winner, Special Appointees and the Members of the staff who have served the institution for 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years.

Following the prize distribution was ‘Tarana – A Symphony of Ragas’, presented by the Indian Choir. Blending the richness of Malhar and Puriya, the choir delivered a vibrant musical piece that celebrated joy while bridging tradition and rhythm. Supported by skilled instrumentalists, their performance created an atmosphere filled with cultural depth and musical brilliance, leaving the gathering thoroughly mesmerized.

It was followed by the staging of ‘A Musical – The Encore’.  The performance stood out for its Broadway-like brilliance, with actors, musicians, and dancers adding vibrancy through their well-synchronised movements. Live singing and instrumental music further elevated the experience, showcasing the immense talent of the students. The stage and the auditorium came alive with dynamic lighting effects, creating an immersive atmosphere that captivated everyone present. The stage, designed by the Department of Visual Arts in collaboration with the IT Department, appeared strikingly realistic and left the spectators highly impressed.

The Grand Finale, followed by the heartfelt vote of thanks, marked the end of the 35th Founder’s Day festivities, wrapping the evening in a glow of admiration and anticipation for future celebrations.
