Annual Sports Day 2025 at ISG Unfolds in Glory
The 35h Annual Sports Day of ISG was conducted on Thursday. October 30, 2025 at the Sultan Al Qaboos Stadium. The Chief Guest for the event was Dr. Ali Abdullah Al Marzaqui, Vice President, Oman Athletic Association.
The meet started off with the March Past by the students of the four houses from classes 9 to 12. Leading the March Past were Jonah Viju Sports Captain Boys and Niharika Manikkoth, Sports Captain girls. The March Past was followed by the Peace Run by the sporting champions who did our school proud in various National and International events. The Chief Guest declared the meet open after Niharika Manikkoth, Sports Captain girls, rendered the oath.
The athletic events - 75 MTS, 100 MTS and 4X100 MTS relay were conducted for both boys and girls across various categories, testing their endurance and stamina. The audience were enthralled by the graceful performances that followed. ‘The Rhythmic Exercise’, ‘The ‘Hand Fan Drill’ and ‘The Lezium Drill’ were a joy to behold. The sporting enthusiasts captivated the spectators with their synchronised movements coupled with the skillful use of the prop while following the rhythmic beats. ‘The Dynamic Dreamers Drill’ kept the audience riveted to their seats. The Inter House Neuro Muscular coordination movements’ competition saw the four houses showcase well-coordinated exercise routines that reflected their discipline and strength. The final performance, ‘The Glorious Glow’ stood out as a spectacular display of creativity and teamwork. The Grand Finale performed by the boys of Classes 6, 7 and 8 provided a fitting and memorable conclusion to the evening’s events.
The Overall Trophy as well as the first prize in the March Past was won by Sohar House. Nizwa House was placed first in the Neuro Muscular Coordination Movements’ competition. The Chief Guest, gave away the prizes to the winners of the several events. The Beating Retreat ceremony which marked the culmination of the athletic meet, was led by the Head girl, Diya Krishna, the Head boy, Anshul Date, the Vice Head girl, Aarushi Manikandan and the Vice Head boy, Brijesh Chowdary. This was followed by the Chief Guest declaring the meet closed. The Grand Finale performed by the boys of Classes 6, 7 and 8 was a fitting finale to the evening’s events. The sports meet ended with the Vote Of Thanks proposed by Jonah Viju, Sports Captain, boys The 35th Annual Athletic Meet concluded on a high note, upholding the enduring legacy of sportsmanship and team spirit.
