ISG TEAM EXCELS AT NBO HACKATHON 2017
The NBO Hackathon 2017 competition was held from 30th April to 1st May 2017 at NBO’s new headquarters at Azaiba. Hackathon is an international platform in which a group of innovative people brainstorm, collaborate and come up with an idea that can solve a problem or enhance an industry.
The team from Indian School Al Ghubra comprising Mohit Kalekar, Mustafa Khan, Parth Mahesh, Rishab Mohanty, Sarth Mahesh, Shunam Ghosh, Soham Banerjee and Vibhu Adhikari, proved their mettle by winning the First Runner Up Prize in Oman’s first ever Hackathon . They were awarded the Prize money of OMR 1000. The winning team from ISG was competing against teams from colleges and schools from all over Oman. The students got an opportunity to showcase their creativity by building a prototype of their idea, on their chosen theme of cashless transaction and banking for kids. The ideas were evaluated on the basis of Business Value, Innovation, User Friendly Experience and Prototype Readiness.
The unique event which celebrated the spirit of innovation exposed the students to new ideas and gave them an opportunity to meet with experts in the IT world. It widened their perspective giving new meaning and relevance to what they learn in Computer Science lessons.
