Indian School Al Ghubra bade farewell to the Class 12 Batch of 2016 – 2017 in a solemn ceremony on Thursday, 23rd February 2017. It was graced by the Founder of ISG. The President of the School Management Committee, Mr. Ahmed Rayees and other members of the SMC were also present to give the students a befitting send-off. The audience consisted of parents of the outgoing students and other well-wishers. The programme commenced with the singing of the school song. In her speech, the Principal, Mrs Papri Ghosh praised the students for their unity and their extraordinary commitment to various school activities. She advised the students to be positive and confident and visualize their goals with their imagination and actualize them with their actions.
In her speech, the Head Girl Nechal Maggon walked down memory lane recalling the achievements of the batch and thanked the Principal, Vice Principal, teachers and ancillary staff for the wonderful years of school life. Amartya Naik, the Head Boy said in his speech that ISG was an extension of their families, influencing, guiding and steering them to strive for the best. The President of Student Council Rhea Naresh Chandwani said that the batch had a burning desire to prove themselves and so achieved many firsts including the first Girls Football Team. Nadha Zainab Aryan Thope, the Head Girl of CBSEi in her speech spoke of the passion and patience with which the teachers moulded the students by developing their skills and talents. The Head Boy of CBSEi, Amey Arun Desai said that their minds were filled with courage and their hearts with confidence thanks to the efforts of the Principal, Mrs. Papri Ghosh, the Vice Principal Mrs Pyarija Cidar and the teachers who nurtured them.
In his address, the Founder exhorted the students to build a personal brand for themselves upholding the values they imbibed from school. He emphasized on the importance of cultivating the right attitude and of staying calm and focused on their goals. He advised the students to work hard to attain success and make their parents, school and country proud. Mr. Ahmed Rayees, the President of SMC in his speech remarked that the students should have an attitude of gratitude towards their parents and teachers. He urged the students to do good towards others and to stand up against injustice.
Next was the presentation of the mementos by the Founder. 147 students of the batch came up on stage and received the memento from the Founder as their names were read out by the Vice Principal, Mr. G. Sreekumar. The highlight of the Farewell Ceremony was the awarding of certificates to 54 students who had completed 14 years of schooling in ISG. There was a burst of applause as the kindergarten photographs of students came up on the screen followed by their photographs as class 12 students. It brought to mind the great distance covered as the little boys and girls were now transformed into confident individuals ready to make their own way in the world.
The Farewell Ceremony ended with a deeply meaningful prayer by the Principal in which she invoked divine guidance for the batch of 2016- 2017 as they navigate their way through life and for their upcoming examinations.Click Here to download attachment
